Sheering A Bobcat

No worries whatsoever here, we are not talking about shaving an unsuspecting woodland creature. That would be “like” totally weird.

We are talking about the Anderson Bobcat—our spectacular Single-Cut style Guitar.

When you are seeking an ultra-elevated, Single-Cut Guitar with attributes to concentrate the bandwidth into a formidable mid-focus presentation, it is Bobcat with its:

• Carved Maple, topping a Mahogany, Okoume or Limba body back—your choice, of course.

• Mahogany-backed neck.

• Short, 24 3/4-inch scale length.

• Top mounted bridge and tailpiece for more relaxed string pressure over the saddles.

Sheer is a term we use when the final finishing coat has a very sheer dusting of sparkle evenly laid over the color. So sheer in fact, that nothing impedes the Blue WakeSurf, Maple Top magnificence of this Bobcat’s dynamic color scheme. But as the guitar dances and moves through the light at varying angles you can see the difference from a regular WakeSurf finish. The Sheer sparkles catch the beams for an instant and bound them back toward the audience, flashing and shining; on and off for a moment.

So subtle it makes you wonder, “Does that guitar have some kind of sparkle treatment or are my eyes just playing tricks on me under the lights”?

Very cool.

These shots capture the effect as we bombarded this Bobcat with concentrated direct lighting to get it to shine forth in still images. Hope you enjoy. And make sure to zoom in to see even more up-close, sparkling detail.

This tale culminates as a gorgeous performing and appearing Single-Cut Guitar. With all the specific elevated Anderson attributes that can be found no where else.

Editor’s Note: This particular player opted for a 2 Knob and lower Big Toggle switch control layout but you can also get the more traditional 4 Knob formation with the Big Toggle situated on the upper horn.

Sheer finishes, a welcome option for those that love the surprise of sparkle and still want all of their chosen dynamic maple color to show at full “volume.”

And what a relief to know that no animals of any kind, not even a Bobcat, were ever harmed or shaved in anyway during the creation of our guitars with Sheer finishes or while writing Guitar Tales.
