Should You Go Au Naturel
/
If you are talking about stage attire, then probably not a good idea. If you mean plugging straight into your amp au naturel — without pedals — that could be desirable if you have great tone and like the pure sound of guitar to amp. But we are talking about paint finishes here and in that case, it is most definitely a very valid and decent option to consider when deciding what guitar look you would like best.
Take this traditional and yet uniquely outfitted T Icon. It is au naturel. Finished in: Natural with Dark Grain — a natural finish with darkened grain enhancement. Very cool. Brings out the depth and beauty of its very visible Swamp Ash body wood figuring.
Listening closely unplugged, you can easily tell how good a guitar will sound under all circumstances. And like all Andes, this one rings out, in tune, with rich, full vibrance. So excellent, in fact, that it is tempting to just mic it alone for one of the tracks — without the amp.
And then…pumping superior wood tone into the amp are a set of our very vintage and very wonderful-sounding TV-Series pickups. Vintage players love these pickups. Sequestered under the nickel neck cover is our TV1, counterbalanced by a vintage + sounding TV3 at the bridge — so you can run and gun all the guitar parts you love so much on this one guitar.
Three super slippery saddles, that can be intonated with precision, play host to our J-Trem tailpiece. Swoops, dives, and pitch lifts all happen with a much more direct movement of the bar, yielding a very subtle acting and stable system that is noticeably smooth, deliberate, and very fun to play.
And where should you go to go au naturel?
We should find it quite fulfilling to know that Fuller’s Guitar in Houston, Texas, is risqué and bold enough to allow this T Icon to run au naturel through their store, singing out loudly while waiting for its next gig to be able to come out and play.
