A Brand New Guitar

And now look at it.

I guess we should have known better than to leave this Icon alone in the studio overnight with a Bobcat.

The Bobcat from last week’s Guitar Tales

It’s mangled. Now this new Icon looks as though it has been played out for decades, well-aged, like some guitar hero has taken it to every gig for the last 40 years. Or…like it was mauled by some kind of wild animal—most likely a Bobcat. Same thing really. Ha.

The Seafoam Green color has been worn away to reveal an underlying 3 Color Burst finish, that has also been worn away to reveal this Icon’s soulfully tone-rich, hand-selected Alder body. The foundation of excellent tone.

But one touch and it is all goodness as you realize it still plays impeccably well—just like every Anderson guitar. No concern there. Always astoundingly satisfying to touch.

And gorgeously gargantuan, vintage tones plume outward through a balanced set of SC1 single coil-sized pickups and an HC2 humbucker, for overwound and musical PAF-type tonalities. As rich and as lush as any guitar could ever hope to be.

Nevertheless, what were we thinking leaving this Icon all alone with a Bobcat?

No wait…sorry…I’m totally wrong about that…

There I go inadvertently blaming our Bobcat when this Icon happily features our In-Distress paint scheme.

This one happens to be an In-Distress, Level 3, Double Decker—one color atop another, masterfully aged to replicate years of joyous playing.

Proof once again that all Anderson Guitars are extremely trustworthy and happy to play well with others all night long. Well, that is certainly a relief.
