The Raven Has Landed

The Raven Has Landed

What we are really asking is: What happened when this Raven arrived at John's house?

A knock on the front door and it was there—finally. Yay.

He immediately freed the Raven from its case and begin to play, and play, and play. And once he began he couldn’t put it down.

Completely understandable.

After an immersed week with his new Raven he emerged with this to say to Graham, of Brian’s Guitars, and Roy, from Anderson Guitarworks:

Hey Roy and Graham-

Hey guys, I just wanted to tell you both how much I am loving the Raven!

This guitar is simply incredible. Feel, sound, looks—it vastly exceeds my expectations in every way. It just plays like an absolute dream. And the lower output pups with the (gorgeous) ash body gives it plenty of attack, chime and twang—AND amazing sustain and ring. Kick in a little pre or OD and it fattens up beautifully for leads.

I have owned lots of nice guitars over (too) many years, and this beats them all. Well worth the wait!

Thanks guys!!!

John

And thank you too John.

Of the four body woods available for Raven, Swamp Ash is the most lively and vibrant with an open and airy middle, softly sparkling and present highs, all supported by a robust low end. Super musical, complex and intricate is its character.

A balanced set of twin PH-series pickups occupy the neck and bridge positions, easily outgunning traditional S-sized single coils with far more power and girth. But true to their signature Soapbar personality, the PH pickups pour forth giant single coil sound that has a much broader bandwidth than any traditionally mid-focused humbucker.

Editor’s Note: All are great pickup choices for Raven so what you choose simply depends on which tones you prefer to place your emphasis upon.

Sonic supervision is granted via a traditional Big 3-Way toggle, located at the upper horn, and two Push/Pull Cut switches (to cut the power of each P-pickup down to an S-level). You have complete access to 8 extremely usable and super-musical tonal options from a two P-series pickup layout.

And all this joy is happening at John’s house now.
