'22 New For You

His name is Jeremie.

No, not the guitar. That is called Raven Superbird

We are talking about the guy…the person…the player who merely took one look at this Raven and lost his musical mind—in a good way.

So then, who is this Jeremie when he’s not at home? More specifically, who is Jeremie when he is at Five Star Guitars.

Jeremie Murfin is one of the owners of Five Star Guitars—our accommodating dealer in the Portland, Oregon area; Beaverton, Oregon, to be more exact. They have seen a lot of guitars, of all types, come through their shop.

Introduced to Anderson Guitarworks guitars a few short years ago when the legendary Ed Cagnacci came on board. Ed began to inundate the shop with Anderson Guitars. It did not take long for everyone’s musical heart to begin to melt.

Fast forward as this Superbird landed at Five Star.

They popped open the case to reveal it finished in a new Anderson color—Satin Sonic Gray. A creamy gray-type color that’s becoming popular in the auto industry as well:

And that’s not all that is new.

This Raven has our Offset Fret Markers on the fingerboard—where 1-12 display on the bass side and 15-21 highlight the high side—a fun feature that has begun to become quite popular recently.

Jeremie took one look and was immediately dazed but not the least bit confused; happily overwhelmed and intrigued may be better descriptors.

That reaction was solidified into full blown desire as soon as he picked it up to play.

This is what Jeremie had to say when riffing about the guitar:

“Once I picked it up I could not put it down—all weekend long. I haven’t done that with a guitar in 10 years. Finally I had to sleep and did put it down—for just a bit—but then right back to it.

It just plays like a dream. The other “guys” here at Five Star have never seen me this enthusiastic over any guitar—ever.

So incredibly fast to play. I fell in love with the neck. Really comfortable.

And the look just immediately caught my eye. The Offset Fingerboard Dots are so cool.

I already wanted a Raven. When I saw this Superbird with the Black Hardware and the new Satin Sonic Gray color, I knew, or I thought I knew. But when I played it the deal was sealed. So nice. I have played it every night since I got it. And it is so easy to access the higher frets.

Just right out of the box, picked it up and played it—no set up needed. So excellent.

All the audio options are crazy-good. And beautiful split tones. Not like 1/2 humbuckers, rich, full and great.

And I immediately started recording with this guitar as well because the intonation is so accurate—dead accurate all the way up the neck. “

Editor’s Note: Jeremie has owned Five Star guitars for the last 10 years. He has taught lessons there for 20.

And more new just for you: Check out the alternate Offset Dots option as they appear positioned all along the bass side of the neck. This is the other way we offer them—your choice of two styles of Offset Fingerboard Dots.
