Thunder Only Happens

When Big Thundery Boom-Boom plays out on a BariTom.

Well, wait. There is more. So much more.

Yes, Big Thundery Boom-Boom was a landmark Guitar Tales for July 24, 2025, explaining the concept and booming benefits of our baritone instrument — so cool and so fun. Just imagine laying down cello-like frequencies to underpin your favorite tunes — granting girth and power everywhere it goes and in every song you choose.

But we have also learned that there is more to an Anderson Guitarworks BariTom than two horns, a fictitious, silly superhero-like name, and a matching pair of socks.

Now hold on a moment…

You may not want to write that part. No one has said anything about a matching pair of socks. Although, they may actually exist. Much like Bigfoot. Is he real, and does he wear big socks on his big feet and do they have Anderson “A” logos freely wrapping around those big Bigfoot feet and ankles? Perhaps you’d better stay tuned for a glimpse of something that may shockingly sock you in future Guitar Tales. Or…maybe you should have another look into the background of the groundbreaking DireWolf from last week for a peek.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled BariTom dissertation…

Right, the best thunder does happen on a BariTom, but now Thunder also happens when you are ready and excited to set your sights on an awesome Offset-styled guitar.

Yes, yes, and more yes. Booming BariTom majesty may now be performed from the wonderfully proportioned offset beauty of the Raven. Its striking silhouette now animates our newest BariTom, a BariTom Raven, in all its 28 5/8-inch scale length and big string boundlessness.

Before you is a Sparkle Silver BariTom Raven. This very one belongs to the renowned Jason Kui. Jason and this big, big “Bird” have performed live in front of huge crowds many times.

Here is what Jason had to say about gigging with his newest band member, his BariTom Raven:

“Oh yes!!! So good. Its low end sounds are super tight, defined, and huge. I opted to tune down to low A, and it still sounds bouncy and tight. But amazingly, when I play lead on the high strings, it screams like a regular-sized guitar and plays like butter — absolutely easy to play, even on the thicker gauge strings. And when strapped on or sitting down, it balances so well, no body or neck heavy problems, just excellent playability!”

There you have it. Anderson Artist, Jason Kui, flying high with almost boundless low register blissfulness onboard his new Raven BariTom. And you will find that it is just so darn fun to Thunder your way along through a song.
