New Demo Videos

We're planning to do more of these simple demos, covering our whole range of models, pickups and options:

Here we have a cool Icon Classic, well spec'd by Guitars Rebellion in Paris, France. Something of a hot rod with its mix of traditional elements along with our more modern SC and H Series pickups, Jumbo frets, and a Baby Floyd.

Played by our very own Steven Holst, who also worked on it in the woodshop!

Much thanks to Marshall (Studio JTM head and cab) and Revv (Tilt Overdrive pedal) for the tone assist!

D'Addario XS Strings

After extensive real world testing, we’re thrilled to be shipping our guitars with D’Addario XS Coated Strings!

How many times have you been in the recording studio, using your guitar on track after track, and all of a sudden your strings are done, almost instantly losing their clarity? Quickly, you change strings only to now have them too brash sounding to blend with the track, leaving you wishing you had time to "play them in” more completely. With D’Addario XS Coated Strings, you have no worries. Due to their advanced formula and construction, these strings have a significantly longer and more pleasing musical life. A much more stable and predictable performing string—without abrupt tonal changes. So nice to play.

New Model Alert: Raven

A whole new Raven is among us. A Raven without classic pickguard styling. By popular demand, the pickguard is completely gone—with the brand-new Raven and Raven Superbird, there is now a beautifully sleek and swooping, clean-cut Offset instrument that is free to fly.

Here in the pages of Guitar Tales, you get to experience the birth of Raven—without a classic pickguard—for the first time.

Pickup Sound Library

Beta testing of our new Pickup Sound Library:

Together with Anderson Artist Cody Davis we meticulously recorded every pickup we make. Everything was done with consistency and continuity in mind - using the exact same guitar and recording method from one to the next - so you can truly a/b different pickup sounds. Keep in mind that while we find this most helpful for hearing how pickups sound from one to the next, it’s not necessarily representative of how they will sound in your guitar. (We used a Classic, with an Alder body and Maple neck)

We’ll be adding more pickups, lead sounds, and individual pickup sounds soon.

For best results we recommend listening with good speakers or headphones. Your phone may not suffice.

New at NAMM: V2 Booster

We are now offering our V2 Booster onboard many of our guitar models (with applicable pickup configurations).

Made by Black Ice Enterprises, it’s a battery-free device that generates approximately 4db of boost that's broadly concentrated in the midrange frequencies. It’s been carefully voiced to produce a fat, humbucker-esque tone when used with single coil pickups. Pair it with our HF/HC Series or PQ/PH Series pickups, and you'll have fingertip access to the authoritative grind of a hot, overwound humbucker.

The small Black Ice Boost module (approx. 2/3 the size of a 9v battery) is installed with no routing or permanent modifications required. The tone of your instrument remains completely unaffected when the boost is bypassed.

Now available to spec on your next guitar!

New at NAMM: Inlays for Bobcat

By far the coolest Bobcat at the NAMM Show 2025 is this one finished in Natural Orange Burst…with brand-new custom fingerboard inlays:

This year, making a bold statement from the surface of Bobcat’s smooth, fast, and so fun-to-play fingerboard, a brand-new option.

This Bobcat is bodaciously brandishing its opulent and elegant custom fingerboard inlays—exclusive to Bobcat—for those that desire a more pronounced fashion statement.

And as you already know, Bobcat is our single-cut that plays like butter and pours out lavishly smooth, full tones that can easily grab an aggressive edge anytime it is needed.

Release the Hounds

Anderson Guitarworks Introduces… Wolfhound.

An entirely new breed of electric guitar from the heart and mind of Anderson Guitarworks.

You can see them here for the very first time and debuting at the NAMM Show, January 2025

Wolfhound is defined by its gorgeous, beveled-edge body that is 19% thinner, lighter, and unbelievably nimble and fun to play. And of course, lightning-fast Anderson playability abounds. Beautiful tones flow forth with a lush, full bloom to the high end of each note and chord—an inherently pleasing characteristic of Wolfhound’s sonic signature.

You may have noticed that Wolfie’s neck pickup is purposely positioned a smidge bridgeward of the 24th harmonic—for a less “wolfie” tone. This alignment renders a slightly clearer and more universally usable neck pickup tone so you can love and live at this sound setting more of the time for more of your music. Certainly, a very usable and desirable appointment for this style of guitar.

Two models, both with a wide selection of options, create more diversity within the Wolfhound lineup than you may be accustomed to experiencing.

NAMM New Stuff: Bobcat Locker

But wait…you can’t just lock up a Bobcat. They are wild and meant to run free.

Yes, that is true. But we are talking about something completely different. We are talking about the new: Bobcat Locker.

Bobcat Locker is our bold, single-cut Bobcat guitar, locked up with a locking tremolo—at both the bridge and the nut.

To harmoniously facilitate this radical and versatile attribute with the most care and attention to every detail of form and sound, the neck back that supports the “Locker’s” function is Maple (rather than Mahogany)—still with a rich fingerboard of either Rosewood, Ziricote or Blackheart.

NAMM New Stuff: Baritom is Back

A thunderous and joyous return. With unrelenting enthusiasm and by popular demand, BariTom is back.

Yes, our coveted baritone instrument returns to the lineup for an exclusive late 2024 run. You can contact your favorite Anderson dealer now for reservations and specs or you can contact us if you need us to put you in touch with one of our excellent dealers or to discuss your favorite specs.

This is the instrument to choose when it is time to make a huge impression—either by itself or added into a track.

BariTom features:

A longer, 28.625” scale length which enables bigger strings to be tuned B to B, resounding a perfect 4th lower than a guitar at standard pitch. Add this into the mix and see how huge your songs will sound.

If this is new territory, you can think of it like the cello in the orchestra, filling in those low mid frequencies effortlessly. Or if you need another way, consider it like using a capo to capo down, instead of up. Ha, very fun stuff.

BariTom can be had in 4 excellent iterations:

BariTom Drop Top—as pictured here.

BariTom Drop Top Classic—same as above but with pickguard styling.

BariTom Pro Am—all tone wood body (no fancy top) non-pickguard styling.

BariTom Classic—all tone wood body (no fancy top) with classic pickguard styling.

So good! With a figurative roar of musical thunder the massive sounding BariTom has returned for an encore 2024 performance.

NAMM New Stuff: Mystichrome

The Mystery of Mystichrome revealed.

Yes, you can believe your “Lyin’ Eyes.”

Catch it in the light—any light. Colors bounding and rebounding, back and forth. As angles change so do the hues. Straight on, green, as it tips, turquoise. Lean back and galaxy blue arises. Edge on, green and purple striations. Rotate right and purple pervades. Push it farther round and fiery violet comes to life. All the while outlining angles can be haunted by charcoal and black shadows.

Different shades…different colors, all derived from varying angles.

It is Mystichrome—a prismatic, color shifting paint. Created by BASF for the Ford motor company. It first appeared as “Mystic” for the Mustang Cobra in 1996. Later, it was reformulated as Mystichrome for even more drama on the 2004 Mustang Cobra—a very fast car with a paint option that has become legendary.

Yes, it is yet another car color for the guitar industry—now how cool and traditional is that!?

NAMM New Stuff: Sharp Edges

Doesn’t this guitar look sharp? Sharper than normal, I mean?

Well it should look sharp because this Li’l Angel Player also has a sharper body edge radius (without binding) for an alternatively “edgy” look—available as an off-menu option for Angel Player and Pro Am.

See more about it here!

NAMM New Stuff: 40th Anniversary Badges

This year marks 40 years of Anderson Guitarworks!

We are celebrating:

• 40 years of unparalleled excellence.

• 40 years of innovation.

• 40 years of caring about each and every detail.

• 40 years of Tom Anderson, the man himself—still here creating and happy—along with all the rest of us. (How many companies can say that?)

Every guitar launching from Anderson Guitarworks in 2024 will bear the badge of our 40 years on the back of the headstock.

Coming Soon: Pickup Sound Library

Anderson Artist and test-pilot Cody Davis with our Test Unit # 2 guitar, working on our long awaited Pickup Sound Library project. Ever wanted to know what an H1 pickup sounds like, compared to an HC1? Well, soon you'll be able to browse audio examples of all our 50+ pickup models, thanks to Cody's hard work recording the same clean/overdriven/heavy riffs over, and over, and over. "I hear them in my dreams" he said, after 40+ hours of recording. And a shout-out to Markus here as well, for handling pickup swap after pickup swap!
