Wide Open Yellow

Down the backstretch, just before the curve, down shift, decelerate, tap the brake, into the corner. Exiting the curve, wide open throttle, up shift to top gear. Ah, the thrill of high performance.

Last week’s Guitar Tales was mellow; a Mellow Yellow, Icon Classic to be exact—a wealth of information hidden in that (hopefully) fun article. A good read.

This week is also about yellow. But about a yellow that is holding nothing back, whatsoever. Corvette Yellow, now accentuating the opulent curves of this Guardian Angel Player.

A Guardian Angel Player is one of our “player” guitars in the Angel lineup. A “Player” features an all tone-wood body, with no maple or fancy wood top. A “hot rod” meant for work and play as its primary purpose—nothing held back. Accidentally bang it into the mic stand and you may just consider that it adds character to its working class hero demeanor. And with the Guardian designation in its name, it denotes (you guessed it) Pickguard styling.  All tone-wood body and pickguard styling.

So a Guardian Angel Player is the culmination of a vintage-vibing, 24 fret monster with supremely-elevated abilities for you to easily run wide open—fully feeling the exhilaration of playing your music unencumbered.

Specifically, this one was ordered with a Black pickguard that features a single coil in the neck position and humbucker at the bridge—and no middle pickup. All controlled by supremely fast and furiously versatile 5-Way switching, rendering the most useable sound offerings an artist could want from this chosen configuration.

Although this guitar is doing anything but driving in reverse, it does have a special reverse gear…no, not gear…Reverse Headstock, that some players view as a symbol of over-the-top rock. This one is accompanied by a fiery and beautiful Ziricote fingerboard.

Throw caution to the wind and feel free to run wide open.
