A Thundering Entrance

Yes, it is Fiesta Red.

First introduced on a 1956 Ford, Thunderbird, it became an extremely popular guitar color both in the U.S. and UK from 1960-1969—maybe even earlier than that but there were no official custom colors until 1960.

In this case Fiesta Red was used to cover over 3 Color Burst—something frequently seen when “Burst finishes” needed covering. Apparently this happened a lot with electric guitars from that era in the rush to create them while keeping up with the demand.

But now, it is just another way to be vintage-cool.  So, we do it on purpose with our In-Distress, Level 3, Double Decker paint process.

A great look and a great way to honor all that created the electric guitar and the monumental music it supported. Very important because music presented in such a powerful way quickly became the most predominate means of no-barriers global communication from the early 1950’s and beyond. One might even say that it was instrumental in elevating world consciousness. And still is today.

So, to present this appearance on the exemplary form and function of an Icon Classic means all the most profound and elevated playing performance attributes and sonic advantages are now yours sequestered behind your favorite vintage look. Huge, robust resonating and alive sustain resound unimpeded.

This is Icon Classic.
