I Should’ve Known Better

As darkness fell and the fog rolled in across the hills, I should have known better than to take the shortcut home over the moors at night. Legend has told of the possible dangers lurking. Something throughout time, relentless, stalking from the darkness. Locals call it “The Hound” and say it will chase you down, never to be heard from in the same way again. What are they talking about?

When I realized what was happening, it was too late for me. I was committed. I was in. I had been caught out after dark crossing the moors, and now I was running—perhaps for my very life. I turned the collar up on my jacket and quickened my pace.

What I thought was most likely only mere legend, was not. Behind, through the darkness, I could now hear it very real and approaching…fast, its distinctive bay coming closer with every step I took. At this rate, I would be unable to escape.

If this is really the end, we would like to thank you for reading Guitar of the Week (from earlier times) and Guitar Tales and allowing us to share all of these Anderson guitar adventures with you throughout the years. It has been our pleasure.

Goodbye. It was nice knowing you.

But wait…

As its presence behind me drew ever nearer, I could hear more and more detail of what was unavoidably going to overtake me. It was not the baying of a hound hunting me down after all, but the beautifully balanced harmony of gorgeous chords ringing out impressively and pleasingly more in tune than anything heard elsewhere. Making everything played sound huge in course and scope.

What a relief! I was being run down by the sweet sound of an Anderson Wolfhound. A happily unavoidable circumstance for all guitar players with a willingness to give Wolfie just one touch. Lightweight, nimble to negotiate, super fast, and flyingly easy to play with wonderfully lush tones gushing out in all directions.

So the legend really is true then when it said, “never to be heard from in the same way again.”

Yes, never in the same way, but better in every way possible as you embrace the call of the wild Anderson Wolfhound—so musical—so fluid.

This befitting beast, appearing with a shiny gloss black coat, highlighted with glimmering gold hardware and outfitted with a Tune-o-matic style bridge and optional B-Trem tailpiece, will definitely stand out among all others from stage or studio—truly the dominant alpha (dog) guitar in both look and performance prowess.

“What guitar are you playing? It sounds unbelievably good. And looks awesome—unique and familiar all at the same time.”

Cloaked under the cover of gold, two gorgeous-sounding HC Series humbuckers easily unravel 8 super-usable sonic combinations with ultimate control primarily parlayed to a fast and simple Big 3-Way Toggle selector switch. Each pickup’s biodiversity expansion is supported by a series/parallel mini toggle for each pickup—every sound only one click away.

To our knowledge, there are no more moors near Beaverton, Oregon, so you are safe to assume that Five Star Guitars will see this Wolfhound in their store—at least until darkness falls and the fog rolls in again. Quicken your pace.

Editor’s Note: A moor is a large, open wilderness area often characterized by hilly regions and boggy grasslands. "Crossing the moors,” especially at night, can figuratively signify an extremely challenging endeavor that can be fraught with danger, desolation, or supernatural forces.
