V-Quiet System

Shhh, Would You Please V-Quiet? Yes, we can, with our New for ‘22:

V-Quiet System

V-Quiet, invisibly sequestered under the cover of a pickguard

Now we can be quiet while playing our vintage single coil pickups—when the New for ‘22 Anderson V-Quiet hum-canceling system is in our guitar.

Some may have thought that we have been trying to keep this information quiet but V-Quiet is far too important to simply keep invisibly sequestered under the cover of a pickguard.

Haven’t you always wished to have wonderfully rich and vibrant vintage single coil tones without the accompanying 60-cycle hum that comes because the pickups can also hear every other electrical field pulsating in the room? (After all, electric guitar pickups are actually EMF detectors. That’s what makes them work.)

V-Quiet is specifically designed to passively (no battery required) hush the hum of our vintage single coil pickups, VA-Series for S-style and TV7s for T-style.

So, if you love the tone of true vintage single coil pickups you can have them behaving as silently as any humbucking pickup—or more so—while your wonderful vintage tones remain soundly intact.

The V-Quiet System is so specifically precise that it tailors its hum-canceling capabilities to the particular coils you are running at any time, making it far more effective and truly transparent.

For those of you that love the tone of real vintage single coil pickups, you can now run them quietly on any Anderson Guitar with Pickguard-styling without the need to tippy toe around the sound engineer any longer.

And the weight of the system?

Light—notably lightweight.

In fact, three VA-series pickups and the V-Quiet system actually weigh a few ounces less than three of our much-loved SC-Series pickups. Light and happy.

Yes, now you can have your Anderson Vintage Single Coil “cake” and eat play it too.

Please V-Quiet—yummy, hum-cancelling, vintage single coil tones abound!

Icon Classic Shorty

Longed for, it has now arrived:

Icon Classic Shorty

Customarily, S-style instruments have always incorporated a 25 1/2 inch scale length. What this means is that the length of the string from nut to bridge is 25 1/2 inches long. It is this attribute, together with its overall design and construction, that is responsible for this guitar’s signature sonic character and playing personality—projecting with upper end definition and big, low end clarity.

But, what if you were to utilize the design parameters of the “S” structure—flat body-to-neck geometry, through-the-body string path—but with the shorter 24 3/4-inch scale length? What would remain and what would change?

Delightfully, all the S attributes that we love and desire and identify with still remain unmoved, however the utilization of the shorter scale length does bless the S player, who needs it, with a bigger reach from its shorter scale and an easier-to-access midrange fullness while slightly rolling the pop at the top and the snap and crackle of the big low end.

So in essence, Icon Classic Shorty is an iconic, classic S-stye guitar with an easier to manage midrange and a bigger reach—complements of its big shortness.

Okoume body back wood

Supercharging this Bobcat is another New for ‘22 option:

Okoume body back wood

Okoume, pronounced [ oh-kuh-may ] is an African-grown, mahogany-like wood, nicknamed: Equatorial mahogany.

Mahogany and Okoume are so similar in appearance that it is difficult to differentiate them from one another at a glance, or even during closer inspection.

But…Okoume’s natural sonic propensity is to emphasize an even fatter, fuller, warmer version of mahogany-like tone.

Supercharging this particular Bobcat’s midrange focus and saturation come under the jurisdiction of its Okoume body wood as it introduces an extra aspect of smooth immersion into thick, sultry sounds.

So yes, if more saturated mid focus is your desire then you too can supercharge your ‘22 with the option of Okoume for many of our guitar models that offer a Mahogany body wood choice option.

MC-Series Pickups

And now, let’s cut right to the sonic chase:

MC-Series pickups for 2022

Every pickup design and style listens for, and proliferates, certain frequencies created by the guitar more efficiently than others; giving each its specific and recognizable voice.

MC-Series pickups speak with a giant, clear and musical persona that yields to nothing.

Not as fat or as centrally focused as humbuckers nor as “girthy” and thick as P-style pickups, MCs flow with bigger, fuller and fatter single coil-like tone, and beyond—as thick, open tones and soft chime bloom and blossom forward in the mix with a wider and more inclusive band width.

Choose these pickups if you seek huge, forgiving and easier to play, single coil-like tones from your guitar.

Yes, it is MC-Series pickups in all their glory, filling a void in the musical world that nothing else can quite capture. Easy, giant, big and yet clear. A super-fun and useful addition to any sonic pallet.

T-Icon with J-Trem

You have seen the T-Icon before, but not like this….

T-Icon with J-Trem

Now T-Icon can also bend and slither, shift pitch and tremolo with an easy flowing touch, thanks to the new addition of the J-Trem tremolo tailpiece to this guitar’s persona.

For T-Icon, J-Trem is the incorporation of an excellent-functioning, floating tailpiece to its Traditional 3-Saddle bridge anatomy.

To further grant free flowing happiness and harmony to its already elevated performance, the J-Trem version of our Traditional 3-Saddle bridge utilizes a special nickel plated, hardened steel saddle treatment, for the slickest string surface possible—excellent for slippin’ and a slidin’.

You will definitely love the extended, smooth tremolo performance this grants to the T-Icon—when you want to be able to dive even deeper into your favorite “T” instrument.

And did you notice…

MC “mini hum” Pickups

Just a sneak peak… more on these coming soon.

Tone Wood Options

We’re always looking for new Tone Woods - both for sonic and visual appeal. And we’ve got some good ones that are New for ‘22:‎

Limba - also know as Korina

First, flip it over and gasp at the back of this guitar, and we delightfully spy a Limba body back; this one finished in White with Black Dog Hair (a.k.a. Cookies and Cream Dog Hair). Limba, also referred to as Korina, is a Mahogany-like wood that can be livelier and slightly more pronounced than traditional Mahogany while still dominating with focused midrange and power.‎

Blackheart Fingerboards - As rich sounding as Rosewood, as Dark in color as Ebony

Introducing a new fingerboard wood called Blackheart. Looks and sounds so good.

“Blackheart” is in actuality, Purpleheart wood that has been “roasted” and now appears very dark to the eye—almost black. We call it Blackheart.

Our official Anderson position regarding this fingerboard wood is:

Blackheart is as rich sounding as Rosewood (maybe richer) and as dark looking as ebony.

From a sheer tonal standpoint, this fingerboard wood sounds wonderful, rich, full and lush while easily upholding the substantial foundation required for gorgeous vintage tones to exude unimpeded.

If your preference is to dance across a very dark fingerboard, you are now welcome to do so, with no rich tonal restrictions whatsoever. ‎

Chocolate Maple Necks are Back!

Back to the back—of the guitar—and what you may instantly notice about the neck back is that…Chocolate is back. Chocolate Maple necks, that is.

Once again you can get a Chocolate Maple neck back with a fingerboard of either Rosewood, Ziricote or Blackheart. ‎
