New Artist - Geoff Guthrie

We’re pleased to introduce our newest Anderson Artist: Geoff Guthrie

Geoff Guthrie is a guitarist and touring musician located in Nashville, Tennessee. He is currently touring with country artist Sammy Kershaw. Geoff is also part of the “Roots and Boots” tour, which features Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin, and Collin Raye. Originally from Georgia, Geoff has been a part of the Nashville music scene for 9 years, having played literally thousands of shows.

In the beginning Geoff Guthrie grew up on a steady dose of music of many genres. He has kept honing his skills along the way, crossing into many styles. Geoff studied classical guitar at Augusta State University, and taught guitar lessons, while simultaneously playing with local groups in the bar scene, opening for some big name acts along the way. Awards for musicianship and a scholarship nomination at the prestigious Berklee College of Music were also part of the journey that eventually led Geoff to make a move to music city.

Shortly after landing in Nashville, Geoff had an opportunity to play a show with country artist Amanda Daughtry. “After the first show I was hired and I played very steady for six years.” Playing in Daughtry’s band opened up many great experiences. In 2019 the group played opening slots for Alan Jackson’s world tour and recorded and released the single and video for the song “Second Wind” co-written by Amanda Daughtry and well known Nashville songwriter, Rick Tiger. In addition to Daughtry’s steady playing schedule of road dates and regular Lower Broadway shows, Geoff also played with many of the other regular groups and artists on Nashville’s famous streets.

Geoff can occasionally still be seen onstage at Nashville’s world famous Lower Broadway Clubs, surprising and astounding audiences with his virtuosity and style, but is currently touring with Sammy Kershaw and the “Roots and Boots” tour.
