Neck Adjustment

Setting up your guitar always starts with the neck adjustment. You’ll need a 5/32” hex wrench.

Hold the guitar in playing position. With your left hand hold the low E string down at the first fret, or use a capo, then with your right pinky, hold down the low E at the 15th fret. Look at the 7th fret and see how much space is between the bottom of the string and the top of the fret. The amount of space can vary depending how hard you play. Unless you play super hard, there should be approximately .006 to .009 inches of relief. Keep in mind, .009 inches is the thickness of a high E string on a set of .009 gauge strings. *Crowdster Acoustics are adjusted slightly closer at approximately .003 of an inch.

If the space is smaller than that, you will need to loosen the truss rod with a counterclockwise rotation. Do very small amounts and recheck.

If you have more space than that, then tightening the truss rod with a clockwise rotation is in order. Again, small amounts are good and recheck.
